  • 2⅔ cups sugar
  • ½ cup black cocoa
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • 3 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1½ cups warm water + 3 tsp instant coffee
  • 1½ cups buttermilk
  • ⅔ cup oil
  • 2 eggs + 2 egg whites
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 boxes vanilla pudding mix (3.9 oz)
  • 4 cups milk
  • Purple gel coloring
  • 16 oz cream cheese
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 cups heavy cream
  • Green gel coloring
  • 2 cups mini chocolate chips
  • 2 bags chopped candy bars
  • Crushed Oreos
  • Gummy eyeballs, sprinkles, candy corn

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix dry ingredients (flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt) and wet ingredients (warm water with coffee, buttermilk, oil, eggs) in separate bowls until well blended.
  2. Combine both mixtures, pour into a greased 9×13 inch pan, and bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before cubing into bite-sized pieces.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix with milk until smooth. Add purple gel coloring until you reach your desired shade and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  4. Beat together cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Add vanilla extract and mix well. Gradually whip in heavy cream until fluffy peaks form and incorporate green gel coloring to achieve a vibrant green hue.
  5. In a trifle bowl or large serving dish, layer cubed cocoa cake on the bottom, spread half of the purple pudding over the cake cubes, and add half of the green whipped cream layer on top. Repeat these layers once more and top with mini chocolate chips, chopped candy bars, crushed Oreos, gummy eyeballs, sprinkles, and candy corn for decoration.
